Summer Camp (K-8) | Half Day Summer Camp (Pre-K) | CIT Program (Ages 14-16)

This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the local board of health.

AGES: Entering K – entering grade 8 in Fall 2016 (ages 5-13).  All camps are co-ed.  

LOCATION:  Brookline High School, Main Field, 66 Tappan Street

TIMES:  9:00am-3:00pm.  Early drop-off (8:00am-9:00am) and late pick-up (3:00pm-6:00pm) are available.

DURATION:  All camps are one week long.  Players may register for one or more weeks.

In Summer 2016, we will be offering Co-ed Multi-Sports, Soccer, Baseball/T-Ball, and Flag Football camps.  All camps last one week and we welcome and encourage children to attend as many weeks of camp as possible; many children attend camp for the whole summer.  Camp runs from 9.00am-­3.00pm each day.  Early drop-off (8.00am) and late pick-up (6:00pm) are available every week. Non-Brookline residents are welcome to attend our camps.  The coaching and instruction offered at all Viking Sports Camps is intended to meet the needs of players of all ages (grades entering K - entering 7) and skill levels.  Children will not only work on individual skill development, but on how to effectively participate on teams, as well.  All camps will be co-ed. The philosophy at all Viking camps is safety, good sportsmanship, and fun.

Viking Sports Camp Coaches
All coaches are carefully selected based on their enthusiasm, professionalism, and experience.  Our pool of highly qualified coaches includes undergraduate and graduate college students, athletes, teachers, and established coaches.  Every Viking  coach is dedicated to helping children learn and play sports.  The coach to camper ratio complies with Massachusetts Health Department guidelines and is as follows:  1 coach per 5 campers for children 6 and under; 1 coach per 10 campers for children 7 and older.

A Typical Daily Schedule

8:00am Campers enrolled in Early Drop-Off arrive and check-in
8:55am  Campers arrive and check-in
9:00am  Campers go to their groups and begin morning stretches
9:20am  Instruction and games begin
11:00am  Snack
11:20am  Instruction and games resume
12:30 pm  Lunch and board games (time to relax)
1:25pm  Instruction and games resume
3:00pm  Campers check-out and depart
6:00pm Extended Day concludes
**Every group takes multiple water, shade, and sunscreen breaks throughout the day**

Early Drop-off/Extended Day
Pre-registered early drop-off (8:00am-9:00am) and extended day (3:00pm-6:00pm) options are available for campers.  During early drop-off and extended day, children may choose to read, write, draw, play board games, watch sports/other videos, learn chess/checkers, play more sports/games and more.

Fees: Early drop-off ($45/week or $15/day); Extended day ($105/week or $45/day). 

Location And Facilities
The location for Viking's Brookline summer camps will be the main field at Brookline High School at 66 Tappan Street.

Rain Days
We will use the gym at Brookline High School located at 66 Tappan Street on rain days and extreme heat days.

What To Bring To Camp

All players should bring appropriate clothing for the climate and to participate in a fun day of sport. All players should bring a light snack, plenty of drinks, and a packed lunch to camp. Although water will be provided, players must bring their own water bottle.  All players should apply sunscreen at home before coming to camp and should bring a bottle of sunscreen to camp so that coaches can remind them to reapply it in the afternoon; Viking Sports Camps will also have sunscreen available for players who forget to bring their own. Players that bring  cleats must also bring sneakers in case we play inside the gymnasium or on the basketball court. 

Sports equipment needed: Multi-Sports camp: shin-guards.  Baseball/T -ball camp: a baseball glove.  Soccer camp: a soccer ball and shin guards. Flag Football camp: a football. Although cleats are optional, players MUST bring sneakers to camp each day in case we use the basketball court or gym.

Application Deadline

Registrations are on a first come, first served basis.

Cancellation Policy
Refunds will not be issued unless a medical condition prohibits an applicant's ability to participate in the program
(MD note required).  Medical refunds will be issued on a pro-rated basis, minus a $35 processing fee.
Switching weeks: There is a $45 fee for switching weeks ($45 per week switched).  Please note “switching weeks” is only permitted before May 21st
